I Learned That… When we talk about Holidays and Traditions, we are really talking about that culture’s identity, and these little details, make the difference to any other country. These things people do tell us a lot about the country, what they do, how do they do it and those sorts of things. About culture Argentina it has a lot of diversity. Now knowing all of this we can hold Argentina in our hearts and do our best to go there. The most important facts about this theme are: 1. Folk Music Traditional Folk music characteristic of the indigenous populations of the Andes is still prominent in Argentina. It is particularly identifiable by the soft sound of wind, percussion and string instruments. The most common place to hear this type of music today is in the  northwestern regions  of the country, where the largest concentration of indigenous inhabitants live.

Traditional Dance Argentina has received worldwide fame for their native dance the tango. Immigrants from Africa and Europe brought the tango with them when they visited the brothels in Argentina in the 1880's.    By the early 20th century, the lower classes gained the right to vote and began to influence others.  Thus, the tango became more popular and all classes of Argentine society engaged in it.  When the tango hit Paris, it was transformed into a dance which represented the high societies of Argentina.

Tango Festival   The Tango Festival is celebrated in August the 10 th and ends the 23 rd Tango is one of the country’s traditions. It is a dance originated in La Boca, a neighborhood by a port in Buenos Aires. Every year tango dancers from all over the world come to Argentina to compete in la Boca, its origin place. The whole city gets involved with tango music, movies, and events.

National Day This day is one of the most important celebrations in Argentina. This holiday is celebrated as Argentina’s Independence Day on 25 th of May, they had this independence from the Spanish kingdom. But this has a series of events of May, in this day they really celebrate the revolution of May. This day is celebrated with family, the families will gather and it “Locro”, a famous dish in argentine. And they will also hear speeches given by important persons from the government.
